What is a Remote Bookkeeper?

A remote bookkeeper will handle your bookkeeping needs online through programs such as QuickBooks Online, and Xero. Documents are sent via Email, Mail, and document transfer programs such as Google Drive or Drop Box. Some people are a bit skeptical when it comes to trusting their finances with someone they may never meet face to face, however with growing technology these days it is becoming less and less necessary for your bookkeeper to be there in person. Here are some things to know about hiring me as your remote bookkeeper.

- Communication is key! A remote bookkeeper may not be there in person, but should be available to speak to you in whatever way you feel most comfortable. At Stacy Leslie Bookkeeping I am available by Email, Phone, Text, and even Skype for that face to face connection.

-Save time and money! By hiring a remote bookkeeper you are saving yourself the time of having to drive back and forth to your bookkeepers office, or paying for their time to visit your location. As part of your monthly bookkeeping service fee, I include phone or skype meetings at no additional charge and not charged by the hour the way an in person meeting would be.

- Flexibility! It is also important that your bookkeeper be flexible with your bookkeeping practices and availability. Although I am a QuickBooks ProAdvisor, I am happy to use any online programs you might already be accustomed to. As far as availability, I know that my clients time is valuable. Running a business is time consuming and sometimes normal business hours don't accomidate enough time to focus on the bookkeeping part of your business. I am available for phone calls, emails, and Skype appointments before and after the normal 9am-5pm some firms offer.

- More Options! By hiring a remote bookkeeper you have many more options than the few bookkeepers who may be in your local area. Although for some, they local option may seem like the most convenient, you should check references, fees, and speak to your prospective bookkeeper to make sure that you feel comfortable working with them. They will be an important point of contact for your financial questions, and you should never feel hisitant to reach out to them. A good fit for you should have the knowledge, availability, and personality that best aligns with your goals for your business.

With keeping these things in mind, make sure that you are choosing the best fit for your business! For more information on my remote bookkeeping services please contact me at Stacy@Stacylesliebookkeeping.com
